5 tips on how to package your wine bottles for photography

Packaging your bottles for wine photography is not much different to how you would package them for your customers. Following are 5 tips to ensure that your bottles and labels arrive in optimal condition for photography.

1.      As always ensure that you protect your bottles from breakage. Please ensure your cushioning material and separating material free of dust and other substances that can mark your labels, or caps.

2.      A great way to ensure optimal condition is to wrap each bottle in acid/chemical free tissue paper. This helps avoid rubbing and keeps your bottles pristine, from sliding into package and movement when vibrations occur.

3.      Fragile stickers help identify that your products are glass, but do not stop friction or rubbing. Ensuring your bottles are packed with minimal wiggle room helps stop this movement.

4.      Loosely scrunched newspaper will help the top of the bottle from rattling around, but the label/light coloured bottle caps would need protected from the newspaper print.

5.      We prefer you do NOT use loose foam or bio-degradable packing peanuts as they can break down with any moisture, this is likely to stain your labels. Styrofoam, bubble wrap and corrugated cardboard wine packaging work well. If you would like to go that extra mile there are dedicated wine bubble wrap packaging that you can purchase from external suppliers.
